Jeff Johnson, founding pastor of Calvary Chapel Downey, CA, passed away into Heaven on February 13, 2024, after a battle with cancer. He is remembered for faithfully teaching God’s Word and ably shepherding his growing church.

The “rescue mission for parents in the public school system” was started by Cornerstone Chapel, a Calvary Chapel in Leesburg, VA.

In January of 2024, Calvary Chapel Magazine Editor Tom Price traveled to Israel with a small group of CC pastors, including Lead Pastor Phil McKay of CC Reno-Sparks. They met with Israeli citizens and witnessed the aftermath of the deadly October 7 Hamas attacks.
